An Orange Summer

Summer is the time for bright colours, and this summer it's all about orange for me. Different shades, finishes and products. What I love about orange is that it really makes the slightest tan pop and really gives you an extra sun kissed look. Typically I keep it to the nails, lips and cheeks. I'm not brave enough to branch out to eyes yet.

Orange is perfect for every occasion, every day wear, holidays, evening meals, nights out. There's a shade for all. I love it!

(It also makes my teeth look a bit whiter!)

Sudocrem for Skincare?

Sudocrem for your face? It's not just for babies bums you know!

This little pot of awesomeness was first introduced to me when my nephew was born and my sister used it at nappy changing time...tmi? Now it has become a staple in my skin care routine. A couple of months ago a friend suggested that I try putting Sudocrem on any blemishes/breakouts or any nasty face fiends overnight in the hope that it would take them down and it definitely did the trick! In the morning my spots had gone down and redness had settled.

I have fairly sensitive skin and can get some nasty breakouts but applying Sudocrem at night means the next morning my skin looks calmer, clearer and feels softer. My theory is that if this stuff is safe enough and good enough for a babies bum, it's good enough for my face!

I tend to do this 3/4 times a week, depending on how bad my skin is, and don't tend to do it daily so I can give my skin a break as it is quite a thick cream and I like to let my skin breathe.

You can pick it up from pretty much anywhere and compared to some of the 'fancier' breakout solutions its a fraction of the price. Why not give it a try?

Barry M Huckleberry || Review

I recently picked up this beautiful pastel, baby blue shade from Barry M at my local Superdrug. It's from the Gelly Hi-Shine collection for spring/summer and is such a crisp almost neon, cool, minty blue shade. It's perfect for the spring pastel trend and really makes a tan pop.

Not only is this polish a gorgeous colour but like most Barry M polishes I have come across, it lasts such a long time with minimal chipping. It applies really nicely to the nail and dries fairly promptly.

Yet again Barry M has pulled out a winner in my books and I really recommend you all to give it a try if your a fan of pastels. This polish has definitely made it's way into my staple nail paints for this Spring/Summer.

Have you tried any nail polishes from Barry M?

A Day at The Suffolk Show

The Suffolk Show comes round every year and people come in their flocks to marvel at the endless amounts of stalls, shows, shop stands and food halls. There's everything from tractors to tea tents and amusement rides to show rabbits. This year I decided to go for the first time in about 10 years and took my lovely Granny with me. Like every year, the weather wasn't on our side, but it didn't stop us from searching every corner of the show, gathering all the freebies we could! C'mon, everyone loves a freebie right?

This year I was particularly drawn to the flower show which surprised me as I've never given horticulture much thought before. The exhibits were stunning and it was amazing seeing how so many different people had interpreted the various titles for each exhibit. The tent was full of vibrancy, intricate detailing and imaginative design.

It's only around for two days every year so if your near and handy to Suffolk, you might want to take a gander, it's such a nice day out and there's something for everyone.

Have any of you been to The Suffolk Show before??

Seventeen Mirror Shine Lipstick in Beehive | Review

I don't normally sport a nude lip, especially this time of year when I gravitate towards brighter colours. But this year I've really been loving the nude look. Lips of course! I picked up Seventeen's Beehive a couple of  months ago whilst I was down in Kent after seeing Lily Melrose rave about it but never really got round to wearing in all that much. Recently I have found myself reaching for it more than my brighter lippies. It's such a gorgeous nude, to me it's a 'my lips but better' and a little darker and makes most make up looks softer and more natural.

The formula itself is very smooth and creamy and applies really nicely. The staying power isn't the best BUT I can easily look past that for the pretty finish it adds to my makeup and the hydrating feel for the affordable price of £4.79.

You can pick it up from Boots online here

Nails for Spring

Hellooo! I've been getting creative with my nails lately and using this lovely weather as inspiration. Here's a few snaps of my Spring Summer nails.

I love having pastel colours and bright colours on my nails in the warmer months and they look great with a tan! I've also been using studs, gem stones and stickers to create cute patterns and add a little extra to an otherwise plain nail.

Hope you enjoyed my Spring/Summer nails, what's your favourite?

Nail & Beauty Haul

Hi everyone! It's a bit of a mixture for you today but I hope you like it.

I've been wanting to get into nail art for a while now and finally bought a few bits from Ebay and Superdrug to get started.

First up I found this really cute stamping set with 7 metal discs holding different patterns, symbols and pictures to stamp onto the nail. I then found these cool little gold and silver studs, perfect to add a bit of edge to your look.

From Superdrug I bought 2 of Maybelline's Colour Show nail paints. One in White Splatter and the other in Peach Smootie. Then, also from Ebay I bought a collection of cute little nail brushes all in different shapes and sizes to create different effects for your nails.

Lastly from Ebay I found these tiny glittery studs in 12 different colours. These were so cheap, nothing over £2, but I'm not 100% of the price exactly. They're super cute and you can create so many different looks with them.

Beauty wise I only picked up a couple of bits. I got these 2 Maybelline Colour Tattoos in the most gorgeous shades. The first one in Pink Gold and the second in Endless Purple. Both look amazing on, but I do have one slight problem with the purple shade as it doesn't seem to go on as well as the rest of the collection. It becomes patchy right for the word go and it takes a long time to smooth it out and create an even layer. I'm hoping I just picked a faulty one as it would be a shame as the colour is so beautiful.

I also picked up L'oreals Super Liner Ultra Precision in Black which is the best liquid liner I have tried so far, the tip is so thin and glides on so easily which makes it quick and easy to create the perfect winged eyeliner. Finally I picked up another of Collection's Lasting Perfection Concealers in Cool Medium. I'm sure you've all heard plenty about this so I wont go into detail, I'll just say that it's amazing!

So there you have it my loves. Let me know your favourite items from my haul and if you have any recommendations.

Stay tuned for my next post!

Bye guys x
